Mike

I sent in a voucher for Office 2003 Pro. It is supposed
to have Business Contact Mgr but doesn't. Microsoft tech
support tells me I have to buy Contact Mgr. seperately
but I can't find it anywhere?? I really don't think that
is correct. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike

The Business Contact Manager (BCM) is an add-in for MS Outlook 2003.
If it's installed you'll see a 'Business' menu item in Outlook.
If you're using MS Exchange then BCM can't be used.

----->>>I got a different runaround for the same problem
from Microsoft. Ask sales or tech support for the toll-
free phone number of the Media Replacement Center (sorry I
don't have it handy today). One rep. at the MRC gave me a
cryptic e-mail address to write to (e-mail took over a day
to be returned as undeliverable), another asked me to
photocopy everything I received in exchange for the
voucher I got at the product launch and fax the copies to
her at a toll number that turns out to be somewhere in New
Brunswick, Canada; the third told me that attendees at
many product launch sessions were promised only evaluation
copies of Office 2003 Prof. (we must have lucked out).
After I read him the inscriptions on the program CD (how
does one photocopy a holographic label anyway?) and the
text of the cardboard portfolio it came in, which
indicated that the disks contained BCM [but didn't], he
ordered a new copy of Office + BCM. Arrived in three
days. Be persistent.

--------->>>>More details, correcting my earlier
message: checking my notes, I see that the third Media
Replacement rep. actually referred me to Microsoft's
Licensing Technology Group (or something like that) in
Seattle at (866) 235-7317 until 7 pm PST, or reachable via
e-mail at (e-mail address removed). I phoned the (866) number. Maybe
I was plain lucky for once in my life; I got prompt
satisfaction from the first person I spoke to.
