I was just wondering if MS was going to come out with a Office 2005 version
soon; if not a person was to get Office 2003 now, would there be a free
upgrade if they do come out with a 2005 version of Office?

It's anyones guess when the next version of Office will be released, I doubt
even MS know.
None of the previos upgrades have been Free.

It will probably come out some time around the release of the new OS. And
Microsoft, as many other companies do, offer an upgrade system 'Microsoft
Office System Retail Technology Guarantee' which allows for free upgrades of
'old' Office products if purchased within (insert time here) of the release
of the new version. As a matter of fact, when Office XP was released, I
purchased Office 2000 shortly after at a reduced retail and then received a
free upgrade to XP. Pretty cool! Anyway, if you are waiting, it may not be
worth waiting almost another year to get a free upgrade. IMHO, the new
feature included in 2003 vs. Office 2000 or XP are worth the price of the
upgrade.

You are joking, of course.. if Office 2003 cuts it for you then buy it.. if
you prefer to wait for a later version all of the time, you will never
purchase MS Office..
