Office 2007 add/remove themes

Richard Fairhall

Hi

There appears to be a bug with add/remove in Office 2007. If you set the
Microsoft Office Themes component to not available it dosen't uninstall and
is still set to run from my computer when you go back into add/remove.

Hi,

Based on your description, I have done a lot of research, but cannot find
any similar issues. I have also tested a lot, and it seems that this issue
only occurs in Vista. Here are the test steps and results:

* In Windows XP:
==========

1. Install Office 2007.
2. Go to add/remove program and change office enterprise 2007 feature
3. Set Office Shared Features | Microsoft Office Themes to Not Avaliable.
4. Wait for the process to be executed.
5. Go to add/remove program and change office enterprise 2007 features
again.
6. Note that Office Shared Features | Microsoft Office Themes is "not
avaliable".

The result is just what has expected.

* In Vista Ultimate:
===========

1. Install Office 2007.
2. Go to add/remove program and change office enterprise 2007 feature
3. Set Office Shared Features | Microsoft Office Themes to Not Avaliable.
4. Wait for the process to be executed.
5. Go to add/remove program and change office enterprise 2007 features
again.
6. Note that Office Shared Features | Microsoft Office Themes is still
"run from My Computer"

The result has reproduced the same issue!

Based on the results, I would like to ensure you that I will report this
scenario to our Vista team, and hopefully they will decide what to do with
it.

Regards,

Leon Hao
