S

sk_Oz

On an XP Pro SP2 machine all updates, Office 2003 SP2, and have downloaded
the Professional Plus beta. When I run setup it asks to proceed, I choose
Yes, and then it immedietly states that "Installation of this package has
failed." and quits. Has anyone else run into this?

Hi,

Yes it's been reported.

Unfortunately, I haven't seen a solution yet.

Hi Brian,

A couple of steps to try (assuming Win XP)

1. Start=>Programs=>Accessories=>Disk Cleanup

2. Internet Explorer=>Tools=>Internet Options=>
General=>Delete Files

3. Locate your 2007 Office Professional Beta 2
download file and note this folder/path.

4. Create a new folder on your PC and note the
folder/path location.

5. From Start=>Run use, on a single line:

[drive:\PathOfDownload]<downloadfilename>.exe /extract:"<path>"

where the "<path>" is the drive:\path\foldername that you crated in Step #4.

If this doesn't succeed then the download may be damaged/corrupted.
If it does succeed try running the setup from your new folder and see if you get different results.

(Be sure to backup your files and shutdown all other running apps including antivirus software before starting 2007 Office setup)

Post back with the results please.

=======
Same scenario, same problem.
