If I buy Office 2007 will there be a free or a reduced rate to upgrade to
2010 when it is released or should I wate for 2010 to come out.

I at least have no idea yet and I presume others have not either.MS did not put out
the pricing to the public yet

To add to what Peter said, Microsoft has traditionally given a Technology
Guarantee for people who purchase the prior Office suite within xx days of
the release of the new version. I don't recall the exact time but Microsoft
will make an announcement if they intend to do the same thing with this
release.

The Office 2010 release date is rumored to be summer of 2010 so I would not
worry yet. Look for an announcement from MSFT when the release date is
given.

Well, it would be good to know now because the 2007 Office Home &
Student edition is being promoted at a great discount for Black Friday
weekend. That discount will not look so great if a few months later one
would have to shell out the full price for the 2010 edition.

By the way, the 2007 edition would probably not even run under Windows
7, especially under the 64-bit version. It's too dated for that, isn't
it?
