Office 2007 Pro upgrade doesn't see Office 2003

How can I get the 2007 Pro upgrade to see that my Office 2003 is there. It
tells me I don't have a qualifying product from which to upgrade, despite
having Office 2003 Professional on my system, AND even offering the CD... but
it won't recognize either one.

Suggestions?

I believe, assuming both products are legitimate, that you would qualify for
free MS support
