Office 2007 problem with installed Help files

Having first removed Office 2003 I have loaded Office 2007 on XP service pack
2 -
none of the Help functions work in any of the applications
- I just get the message:
There is a problem with one or more of the installed Help files. Please
repair your Office installation and try again.

I have removed and reinstalled Office, run Diagnistics many many times over
5 months and still no Help.....

Can someone please help sort this out it is driving me mad!!!!!!!!!!!

I am having exactly the same problem. I did not uninstall Office 2003 first
however. I have installed Office 2007 and Visio 2007 - and get the same
message/problem with both. It is really irritating. There seem to be a number
of people out there with the same problem - why is there no MS solution
posted? If I was a developer/support staff it surely would not take very long
to work out what is what...? Aaagggh.

I was receiving the same error message on Vista Ultimate 32-bit. I just
reinstalled Vista from scratch. I think I caused my own problem with some
tweaking I did with Windows. If you messed around with Junctioning your Users
folder to another location an incorrectly applied security settings to that
junction I can give you more details but I'm guessing you didn't.

Look at post #5 below... verify that your registry appears as follows if it
doesn't, backup the registry and try shifting that. I know there have been
conflicts with Dreamweaver 8. Perhaps other applications as well
