Office 97 Re-install - Access Read Only

After recently re-installing Office 97 and fixing a problem dealing with
"There is No License" error message, I now have a new problem. When I open
my previously created databases, I get the message that "The database " " is
read only" and I can no longer modify, add or delete records. Can anyone
help?

In windows explorer, right-click on the mdb and see if the Read-only flag is
checked.

Joan,

That did it. I don't know how it got changed to read only when I saved the
mdb before re-loading my operating system, but your help was very much
appreciated. Thank you so much,

Jerry

What did you do to solve the "No license" problem. I'm have a new XP machine
and installed Office 2003SB except Access. When I tried to install Access97
I get that message.

See

ACC: There is no license Error Starting Microsoft Access

You'll need to follow the step-by-step in the article since you are on XP.
