Hi, I have a trial version of Microsoft Office Small Business Edition and I
would like to activate it. I followed the instructions of selecting
"Activate Product..." under "Help", but nothing happened when I clicked on
the "Convert..." under the "Microsoft Office Small Business Edition". What's
the problem?

Convert is not Activate. Activate allows you to use it more than 50 times
but within the stated timeframe. Convert means that you are paying for it
and will be granted a perpetual license.

I've already activated the product and I meant that I want to convert to the
full product now, but I can't because software wouldn't do anything when I
pressed the convert button.

To convert, you have to pay for Office. You'd remember authorizing ~$200 (or
more) on your charge card.

At least, *I'd* remember that and I have a really bad memory. ;-)

The thing is though, I never did pay for I never converted the product, and
now none of the Office applications can allow me to do anything in them. My
question is why nothing happens when I press "Convert..."? I really need
Office to do my work.

Purchase a "Full Retail Version" of Office 2003,
uninstall the trial version, then install the purchased
version.

I'm not being a b*tch, I have to ask this question. *If* you knew you need
Office and you knew it was a trial version, why didn't you just buy Office
and be done with it? I see a LOT of posts from people who are in the same
pickle you're in and I can't help but wonder why they didn't buy Office if
they need it.

I'm sorry you're stuck at this point. I can tell you that amazon.com has
some good prices on Office and you'll probably get free shipping.

As Carey mentioned, basically you'd need to purchase a retail copy of MS Office as the most reliable trial conversion method.

Some trial copies dont' convert due to errors, sometimes as simple as your computer's firewall blocking the connection. See if the
information here helps:
