Office online

I am creating a birthday invitation and want to use an online graphic, but
when I ask it to search for a particular graphinc, the only ones that display
are ones already on my computer.

Are you certain you are online? There is link on the
bottom of the Organizer task bar that says "Clip Art on
Office Online." What happens if you click the link?
