Office Prof XP won't set up

I am trying to install my Office XP Professional, version
2002, on my new computer. It is reading the disk fine, but
when I try to set it up/install, I keep getting an error
message "set up failed to locate a valid product on your
machine. Please select drive where qualifying products are
inserted". When I select the drive (and I know the
computer is reading the disc) I get error message 1608. I
am using the original disk and program, so anyone have any
ideas on how this can be fixed?

Put a qualifying product into the CD drive (read the box). Or purchase the full install instead of the upgrade.
