Office runs slowly

All my new Office software (on Vista) runs more slowly than the old Office
software. For example, when switching between documents in Word I sometimes
have to wait 15 - 20 seconds while Word "analyses" the document. In
Powerpoint, It takes several seconds to group objects.

What's going on and can I speed things up

What hardware do you have? Mine goes a tad slow when it is connected
to my networked printer. I just set the XPS writer as the default and
it goes quickly again.
