Office specific updates won't install

I received the latest MS updates several days ago as everyone did. Auto
update
cannot get 7 of them to install nor can I, and I've tried more than once
each day
since they were received. I click on the icon in the task bar and all
starts normally, but each of the 7 Office updates produce the same results,
which is that
the "installation failed". I have turned off my Live One Care firewall and
AV, and still no install. This is the first problem that I have had with
installing the regular updates. I have searched the KB and found
suggestions, but nothing that I found helped. Others have had the same
problem as I found on
m.p.windowssp.general, where I received no responses and they received no
solutions. During this same period I have had 5 successful updates on Oct.
12 and Oct. 19. It seems that only the Office related updates fail to
install. Using XP Home and Office 2003 Pro. Suggestions please. TIA, Dick

I did a install/repair of Office 2003 and all of these updates installed
readily. Something was wrong somewhere.
