Office XP for Student and Teachers Transfer

Can I transfer the office XP on my old computer to my new
computer? I'm pretty sure that the installation will
look like I have office on two computers, even though it
will be installed on only one, (I am planning to format
my old computer's Hard Drive) and the activation will
fail. Is this true or is there a way to get around this?
