OL2003. Send/Receive dialog just flashes and nothing is sent/recei

This very weird problem is happenning to me.
I have two email accounts.
When I click "send/receive" the send/receive dialog box just flashes quickly and no mail is sent or received.

If i'm, able to push the pin button, i'm able to see:
- Account 1 - send - OK (green check mark and "completed" status)
- Account 2 - send - OK (green check mark and "completed" status)
- Account 1 - receive - Not OK (no green check mark or red cross and "processing" status)
- Account 2 - receive - Not OK (no green check mark or red cross and "processing" status)
