You must have a different version of Front Page than the
rest of us as there is no File Edit.

You were being told that when you want to open your web
live, you do the same old File Open. Instead of using
Front Pages's Open dialog to navigate to the disk based
you want to open, you should type in the URL of your web.
This, of course, assumes you have a web that you have
previously published to your web service provider's
machine.

When you edit your web live, you File Save and the
changes will be saved to your web service provider's
machine.

If you want to then save what is on your web service
provider's machine to your PC, you must do a File Publish
where the source is the WSP machine and the target your
PC.

I hope this helps clear things up for you. If not, come
on back.

Not File Open but File | Open Web..., they are to different things.

Rick you said, "This, of course, assumes you have a web that you have previously published to your web service provider's
machine." There is nothing to assume, if the site is hosted on a server with FPSE then there will be an empty web established when
the ISP / WPP sets up the site. Otherwise, you'd never be able to publish to it.
