Open to current date?

MS Project 2003 standard

I have a master project with several projects files linked to it. No matter
what I change, or how I save it, it alway opens with the gant chart showing
January of 2004.

Is there a setting to get it to open with a view of the current date, or at
least a way I can set a date to be in view. All the sub-task files open with
the project start date in view, but this master project file seems to
ingnore the start date I set in "Project Information" ????
