open web

I know this is probably a basic question but I can not figure out how to get
to open web. When I click on file the only options are open and open site.
I recently changed servers and am having heck of time. I need to change the
server name, the username and password. And I can not do it from open file.

Open Web and Open Site are equivalent. In FP2003 the term Site is used
where Web is used in previous versions.

Open Site is the same as Open Web.

box gray

When you use File, Open Site and type in your URL (ex: http://www.xyz.com)
do you get prompted for the user name and password?

What are the exact steps you're using and what do you see when you do them?

When I open file my old user name and password is there. I change it to the
new user name and password and get this error:
The server www.xyz.com at www.xyz.com requires a username and password.

Warning: This server is requesting that your username and password be sent
in an insecure manner (basic authentication without a secure connection).

OR

Click pubish site
The top box is checked front Page or Share point Services
Click OK
It brings up the login box with www.xyz.com
and my old password with
I change to the new user name
I change password to the new one
Click OK and then this box comes up:
The server www.xyz.com at www.xyz.com requires a username and password.

Warning: This server is requesting that your username and password be sent
in an insecure manner (basic authentication without a secure connection).

Make sure you are writing the URL as http://www.xyz.com and not just www.xyz.com when accessing or
publishing from FP.

If this does solve your issue, you need to contact your web host.
