Opening a .doc file

I have several very long text documents saved in Word as
XXXX.doc files. Is it possible to make them open at the
last place they were worked on even if that's in the
middle of the document.
Any ideas would be welcome

After you've opened a document, you can press SHIFT+F5 to go to the
last edit point.
