Opening external prgrams with Access

I am fairly new to Access and trying to create a database that does many
different things. I have a form set up from many different tables and
queries I have made. In one of the queries, I have the file location of the
files I want to open. ie., P:\Pictures\...
I want to be able to click on the field then with a button and a docmd to
open the program and the file that I have selected. Can anyone help? Is
this even possible?

Docmd.RunApp will launch another program in a macro
Look it up in access help.
with vb you must use the shell function.
