Opening speed btwn 2003 & 2007

using 2003 & 2007 - I have several small project files (600-700kb). I
have converted then all to 2007 format. When I open them in 2003, it
takes about 1 second to open. When I use 2007 it takes 30-45 seconds
to open. Also, scrolling in 2007 takes a loooong time - even when I
set calc to manual and turn off 3D.

What's the deal with 2007?

Hi Glen,

Same OS? Same hardware? I would imagine Project 2007 on the same
hardware would be slower than Project 2003. You might set your undo
levels down (I believe they are set to 40 by default).

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Same OS, same HW. Even when I set the Undo levels and other
parameters to that of 2003, the refresh on 2007 is significantly
slower.
I have been able to speed it up some by reducing the Undo levels to
10.

Hi Meg99,

I suppose it's possible that the conversion has called some bloat. You
could try the suggestions in FAQ Item: 43. Handling project file corruption
and/or bloat.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address:http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
