Hi,
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced performance problems opening
Project files with Project 2007 over a VPN connection.
We have experienced the following at 2 different companies with 2 different
VPN configurations:
1 - Project Standard 2007 with SP1 is installed.
2 - The user connects over VPN. The line is either DSL or cable internet
with speeds of 1.5 MB (DSL) or 15 MB (Cable).
3 - The user opens a 332KB Project File over the network and it takes 22-25
seconds to open. I can copy the file locally and open it from the C:\ drive
and it takes 2-3 seconds.
4 - Opening a similar sized file over the network in Word 2007 or PowerPoint
2007 takes 2 seconds.
We have tried with Project 2003 and 2007 formats. There are no external
data sources or queries in the files. Nothing seems to help.
Maybe there is a setting somewhere???
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
