opening up saved presentation

I am trying to open up a saved presentation with powerpoint 2003. When I
click onthe recent history, I get a message window that say powerpoint cannot
read C/:and thens gives the path and file name. It is not a problem with
reading the drive as I opened up Word and can open a document in word located
onthe C drive.

I tried creating a blank document, saving it and then opening it again and
get the same message.

Help?

Have you tried installing all the latest service packs for 2003. The base
install had issues openning presentations created in earlier versions.
