opening word document in microsoft works 8.0

If a had a word document that i made using the newest version of ms word and
i had paragraphics,images,borders,and i went on another pc and open this file
with microsoft works 8.0,will some formatted be lost? or will the document
look the same as it does in ms word?

It probably won't look the same - the Works word processor has a different
range of capabilities.
