Opening Word or .doc files from internet source

When I try to Open a file right from an internet source (I know this can be dangerous if I don't "know" the source) it "can't find the file". I know when you try to open a file from internet - it saves to Temp file then opens but it can never find file and tells me to check location or spelling....... I can open the files if I have MS Word application already open but if it is closed and has to be automatically opened by clicking on file to be opened it "can't find". This happens with e-mail attachments and files from interfnet sources (such as uploads for my school classes, Doc Sharing, etc.) This happens for all types of files such as Word, Excel, ppt....

If I save file (instead of opening it - it works great) I know this is the safest thingto do but I'm wondering why the Open all of a sudden doesn't work
