Opening Word

I'm having a problem opening word. All of a sudden it
won't open. When I click on it the small "word screen"
comes up & then freezes. Then I can't close it down. & I
have to manually shut the computer down. I've deleted
word & re=installed it, still won't open. Does anyone have
any suggestions.

What syntax are you using to instantiate Word? Are you
opening a document, or just the shell?
