openoffice.org documents

All my documents were saved as openoffice.org documents. I'm trying out
MSOffice 2007 for home and students. Stupidly, I deleted openoffice.org and
microsoft can't open any of those documents. Are they lost for good now?

No, not lost for good now. If you have Office XP, Office 2003,
or Office 2007, then you can enable it to open native-format
OpenOffice files by downloading and installing the converter from
http://odf-converter.sourceforge.net/ . As with most file
conversions, not quite everything converts perfectly, so you
should read the Known Issues page.

As it's free, just re-download and re-install. Open Office and MS Office
will live very happily side by side...
