Organize using colors is not working

I am using Outlook 2003. I have a problem with the function that allows you
to color code emails from a certain sender. I have mine setup so that an
email from a particular person comes in as blue. I only have it setup for
one person, however there are several emails from other people that show up
in blue. I cheked in automatic formatting and deleted all rules except for
this one. Other messages still show up in blue. I even uncheck and deleted
all rules and messages from that sender (along with messages from other
senders) still show as blue. I even went to tools|organize|using colors and
tried to change the color so emails from that person would come in as red,
but it wouldn't change the color. It stayed on blue no matter what and other
emails were still blue. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could try?
