Out of Office

I just upgrade my w2ksp4 computer from Office 2k to Office 2k3. Found 1
little snaffoo.
In the new, Outlook, when I go to Tools>Out of Office Assistant, I get a
message "The command is not available". An Out of Office message was set at
the time and now I can't get in there to turn it off. I tried re-install
and Detect and Repair. After each of those, the first time I start Outlook
I get a message about a syntax error in:
c:\program files\microsoft office\office\addins\fldpub.ecf.

Anyone have any ideas? Short of totally remove and install o2k3 from
scratch.
