Outlook 2002 Not Responding

My outlook continues to hang up and says not responding.
I have deleted the Office XP mulitple time and reloaded
it but it still does operate. It will not let me delete
old calendar items. Perhaps one or more is corrupt. Any
idea?

I don't really get an error message. It just hangs up and
then I have to close it for "not responding"
