Outlook 2003 - Duplicate messages being downloaded

G

Gordon

Outlook 2003, "leave messages on Server" set for 7 days.
I subscribe to a mailing list, for which I have a Rule set up as follows:
If the mail is from the mailing list, move to Folder "x", mark as read, and
stop processing more rules.
Outlook is downloading two copies of each mail, just for the mailing list. I
have been to KB 885870 which says that this behaviour is cured by applying
Office Service Pack 2. I *have* Office service Pack 2!

Any thoughts as to how to cure this?

thanks

There have been recent posts and an apparent acknowledgement by Microsoft
that this problem is still not fixed.

Is this behaviour caused by the "Keep messages on server" function, or by
the rule?

Do you know where that acknowledgement is? I have been frustrated by seeing
that OL2003 is having this problem and all the answers I see point to SP2 or
a server side error - despite the fact that SP2 does not fix it and
accessing the same servers with other email programs does.

It would be reassuring to know that MS is at least working on this as an
OL2003 problem

Thanks
