Outlook 2003 Email list names not in contacts question

When I go to send a new email, and click in the To field and start to type a
name - outlook shows me a list of names that start with the letter I type in
-
but -
some of those names aren't in my Contacts folder. I think this might be
because I have Outlook set to automatically add email names that I
send/respond to into this list that shows up.

I would like to delete one of these names that is showing up but not in
Contacts - but I don't know where to find it to delete it.

All replies appreciated

That list actually has nothing to do with your Contacts folder. It's solely
the list of addresses you've mailed in the past.

If you want to completely clear out the list, you can search your HD for the
nk2 file (make sure to search for hidden and system folders/files) and
delete/rename the one that shares the name of your Exchange profile.

If you only want to remove certain addresses, wait for them to come up, use
the arrow keys to select them and hit the delete key on your keyboard.
