Outlook 2003 Sent item problem

My problem is I can send a new message, it goes to the
outbox, it is not assigned a date, when send recieve is
carried out it does not go. If I forward this same
message it transmits properly.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
