I am setting up a new user profile in Windows XP SP3. This is a
shared machine so needs several profiles. Using Office 2000 with
Outlook 2003. I was able to connect to our Exchange server with no
trouble, but while retrieving messages, a dialog box looking for
data1.msi from the office 2000 disk is coming up. If I cancel setup,
it repeats 3 times before staying closed and repeats every time
Outlook is opened. My predecessor did the install from a network
folder that is no longer available (server crashed) and i have tried
all the office cds available (3 versions) but each one tells me the
data1.msi is from the wrong version. It appears to only pop up with
certain emails so I assume Outlook is perhaps trying to install a
filter? Any suggestions for cleaning up the installer? (I tried a
Google search but couldn't find the correct keywords.)
