outlook and modem

I am part of a network and am currently using a modem to
connect to the internet to access a company. I am
connected to the network by way of a data line connected
to my nic card. When I sign on the company by way of
modem I can no longer receive my email from the inhouse
exchange server. Is there a way to fix the issue or do I
just to live with it?

If you connect to your company via the NIC, then you can receive your
Outlook mail. If you connect using the modem, and the modem is not
connecting to your work account, you need to talk to the Exchange admin
about either using a VPN on the modem side of things or use Outlook Web
Access.

In your Exchange server properties in your Outlook profile, go to the
connection tab and make sure "connect using my Local Area Network" is
checked - does that help?
