outlook attachment

I use Outlook 2000. I would like to attach a folder, that
may have multiple files in it to a Outlook email. I get
an error message when I attempt to do this. Is there a
way to do this? Third party software?

You can only send individual files not folders. Compress the folder by using
WinZip or WinRAR. Then send the compressed file.

Keep in mind that a folder (or directory) is just another file with a
special attribute that designates that its contents are a directory.
This "directory" file lists the pointers to the files it manages. So
sending the folder, even if you could, would only send that directory
file and nothing under it.

As suggested, zip up the folder (which would then include all the files
under it). If there are subfolders then be sure to configure your
archive program (WinZip, PKZip, whatever) to recurse subfolders if you
also want to include those and their files, too.
