Previously, I can shutdown my PC with Outlook (Outlook 2002) running.
When I restart my PC, Outlook does not show a pop up saying that
Outlook was not shutdown properly and it needs to check the file.

Now I'm using Outlook 2002. It always show this popup.

Should I let it check or just click cancel ? Is there anyway to
switch off this checking ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

What has changed? You say Outlook 2002 in both instances. How are you
shutting down, and what operating system?

No... Outlook 2000 does not have this problem. Only my Outlook 2002.

I leave Outlook running and use the start->shutdown. Win2k.

I would suggest shutting down Outlook first. I would surmise that your
W2K is not waiting till Outlook closes before shutting down. What is
taking Outlook longer to close? Maybe the PST file is very large?

Similar size PST file on both Outlook 2000 and 2002. So I guess it's
not due to the file size. Actually, if I were to bring up Task
Manager and then terminate 2000, this does not happen. But it would
happen if I terminate 2002. So I think it's the behaviours on Outlook
2002. But I don't know if this is perculiar to my setup or is it the
same case on other machines.
