Server: MS Exchange 2002
Trying to send an email, a message box appeared saying it couldn't send. I
don't remember the message exactly. I didn't take time to save the errors
because the user was in a rush to get the email out. It was a short
non-descriptive message.
I tried saving the email as a draft and got a message something about folder
may be moved or deleted, or user does not have access. I said Yes to the
question that asked would I like to save to some default folder.
I went back to the main Outlook screen and clicked on drafts to verify it
had saved. It showed grey with some sort of message about cannot access
server or didn't have permission. I clicked on the Inbox, then back to the
Drafts folder, and it looked fine, with the email saved in it.
I tried sending again and got the same error message. So I closed the email
and Outlook
I restarted Outlook and the message was still in the drafts folder, so I
opened it and sent it. It appeared to send fine, and it appeared in the
Sent Items folder. The user called the recipient after sufficient time for
the email to get there, and they said they didn't get it.
I created a new email, opened the first email from the Sent Items, copied
and pasted in the message and sent it again. The user called and verified
and this time it was received.
What could cause this? So far as I know this is the only time this
happened. No other user has had issues with Outlook.
