Outlook doesn't drop from Prcessses running when I exit Outlook

Every time I leave Outlook, I am unable to run it again,
unless I view the task manager and stop Outlook & winword.

I'm having a similar problem. Using Windows XP & Outlook
2002. it is still in Processes and takes up a lot of
memory. everything runs slow.

ending the process or restarting windows to "fix" the
problem says the program is still running and it will
shut it down but could lose any unsaved data.

Help please
