Outlook fails to close

After I close Outlook using the X in the right-hand
corner, the message "Please wait while Outlook closes"
stays displayed on the screen. The only way to close it is
to use End Task. Is there a solution to resolve this
problem? Thanks.

I'm having a very similar issue--can't seem to find a
