Outlook freezes after an aborted inmport attempt.

I was attempting to import my Outlook Express 6.0 messages into Outlook 2000 and aborted the process in midstream. Now Outlook will not open - the product screen opens and then the program freezes. I also cannot import or export from Outlook Express. When I try it also freezes. I assume I have corrupted some file/program that is used for these import/export processes. I have un and re installed all of my MS software which has not had an effect. Suggestions

Also, I am actually attempting to transfer my Outlook Express contents form one laptop to another ... any suggestions for doing this besides importing into Outlook, saving a PST file, copying this file, updating Outlook on the second laptop then importing this into Outlook Express on the second laptop
