outlook freezes

i have been having the problem with my outlook, once i open it it freezes
and stays frozen until i have to use the task manager to end the process.
other people i know have also been having this problem. and they pretty
much had to recreate their windows profile in order for outlook to work
again. is there a way fix this without recreating my profile?

.I have the same problem. When I go to Outlook Express to

read mail, everything freezes. Nothing on the page works.
The email in my box is there, but I cannot access it. I
try various things to click, but it is frozen. I have to
shut down my system (Win98SE, IE 5.0) and reboot.
Now I did a safe mode boot and then I could use Outlook,
so I know the program is OK, but there is a problem
somewhere. Virus checks were clean.
Will somebody please email me at (e-mail address removed) with
help?
I know there must be someone out there who can help me.

Disabling incoming and outgoing virus scanning feature on AVG antivirus solved the problem for me.
