Hey everyone,
I've got a problem that has haunted me on 3 different machines now. At work
I had an NT 4.0 box running SP4 or 5 I don't recall and Office 2000. At
home I've had 2 machines, one after the other with the same Outlook .pst
running on WinME and now WinXP Pro SP1. On WinME it was Office 2000 on XP
it's Office XP. The work computer used it's own .pst, I didn't move it or
import it from home at all.
What seems to be the problem is when I reply to a message or especially when
I go into sent items and do a reply to all (when I'm following up on an
email that wasn't replied too), when I go to send, Outlook hangs. It does
it right when it would be loading the spell check (I have it auto check all
sent emails). Sometimes I can repeat the failure time after time after
time. When it happens I have to end Outlook via the task manager. I can
load it back up and hang it again with the same set of steps. If I save the
email before sending it, that seems to break the cycle.
Anyone have some ideas? It's getting frustrating to type up a 2 page email,
forget to save it then hit send (I use the Ctrl+Enter shortcut) and have the
message hang on you with no way to get it back. The 'working' copy Outlook
saves behind your back isn't there when I load Outlook backup.
So based on the fact it's done this on different machines with different
Operating Systems with different versions of Office, I'd say it has to be
something I'm doing or it's some bug that has a very specific set of
triggers to cause the failure.
Thanks in advance.
