Outlook hangs when trying to save anywhere but My Documents

Anytime I try to browse away from the My Documents folder using Outlook or
PowerPoint (and I imagine any of the other office apps), the interface locks
up for a really long time. If I can stand to wait several minutes, then the
interface recovers and I can browse the file structure and navigate away
from the my documents folder. This happens when I try to save files in
Outlook or when I try to get files through Powerpoint.

Any ideas how to resolve this issue. I am posting a similar question to the
Powerpoint newsgroup as well as miscellaneous.

You probably have an unreachable location in your History. Check if all your
mapped network drives are valid and clear your History from Control Panel->
Internet Options
