Outlook needs dockable notes in various views

S

Steve Smythe

I use the Outlook 2003 notes feature in a "Daily Record" notes folder to keep
track of what I do every day (a new note for each day). I would love to have
the ability to "dock" my "daily record note" in a part of the calendar and
mail view. This would allow me to have a digital daily planner right in
front of me. And I could minimize the whole package all at once.

Right now, I use the Calendar view with the task pad showing (sorted by
category), the folder view selected, and have my daily record note floating
around. When I want to concentrate on my current work, I use "show desktop"
to minimize everything, and then click on Outlook 2003 and the Note to bring
everything back up to the foreground.

I also use the Chapura KeySuite to sync my daily records notes folder to my
Palm so I can update my daily records when I'm in meetings or out and about.
I used to use the Journal feature, but found it difficult if not impossible
to sync with my Palm (and between my work and home machines). I've tried the
Franklin Planner for Outlook software and found it to be severely lacking in
this area (as in you can't sync your diary at all).

I think this is the last piece missing from my all digital planner system.

Any suggestions on how to better use Outlook for recording daily notes is
appreciated! :)

Oh yeah. And please allow for searching within a single Note. I like being
able to search for text among all my notes, but inside an individual note is
missing. Please? Please?

Thanks! Outlook 2003 is amazing!
