Outlook on a laptop

I need to be bale to synchronise my Outlook files from an Exchange server to my new laptop. My current settings allow me to select Mail Preferences and Enable Offline Access. However, the new laptop has this option "greyed" out. Have I missed an initial step/process

I use Outlook 2000 and Windows 2000. Any help gratefully received.
