Outlook Problems

I am running MS Office 2002 on an XP Pro machine. I use Outlook 2002 for my
email. I am suddenly getting the following error message when trying to
create a new email or reply to an old one.

"Microsoft WordMail could not be started. Close any open dialog boxes in
Word and try again."

If I click "OK" then I get the following error message:

"The add-in template is not valid. (D:\Program Files|..|~$FMaker.dot"

If I click "OK" I then am allowed to use Outlook. These above error
messages only seem to happen with the first email when I have just opened
Outlook. Subsequent emails are fine until I close Outlook and reopen it.

I do *not* use Norton antivirus. I use AVAST. This problem *JUST* started
happening on boot up today.

Any and all help *greatly* appreciated!

Anne,

I have read the page you referred me to, but I'm not completely clear as to
what I need to do. Apparently I need a bit more explanation.

TIA,
Brenda

I understand that I need to remove the Acrobat toolbar in Word, but I'm
unclear as to where / how to do that. I don't even see the Acrobat toolbar
when I open Word.

As you know, when I now open Word, regardless of whether or not I have my
email open, I get that same error message, so you are correct - it's a Word
problem, not email problem.

I'm puzzled, though, as to what has suddenly caused this problem, as I did
not have this problem before today.
