Outlook Running in Background

When I start Outlook, the first time when I start the
computer I have no problems, but it seems that after I
run it again, the mail will not download. So when I call
up Windows Task manager, there are two Outlook processes
running. So I have to manually shut it down in the Task
manager. Any Ideas?

This sounds like a similar problem that I've seen with Outlook 2000, where
closing outlook with the "x" in the top right of the main window closes the
user interface but doesn't kill the process.

When you click the outlook shortcut again, you then have 2 outlook.exe
processes running, still with no user interface.

To try to get around this, try to use file, exit. I haven't seen this
problem with Outlook 2002.

I had a similar problem with Norton Internet Security 2004 Anti-Spam. When I
disabled the anti-spam, the Outlook icon closed when Outlook was clsoed. Try
dsiabling any anti-spam software you might have installed.
