Outlook Sync

Hello everyone,
I'm using a trial version of project server 07. I'm tying to get the
outlook sync to work. I installed the plug in and synched with the
project server. I set up an alert to notifiy my when a new status
report is requested. I then send a request from the server to my user
account but nothing happens. I double checked my email address and it
looks good. Is there something that has to be done on the server?
that protocol does it use to send out emails?

The Outlook addin simply provides a mechanism for sync'ing assignment
information with Outlook tasks/calendar items, it does not provide a solution
for sending alerts.

You need to configure alerts in PWA>Server Settings>Alerts & reminders.

For alerts on sharepoint lists, you will also need to configure SMTP
settings in Central Admin>Operations>Outgoing Emails.

I thought the Manage and alerts page allows you to manage when and how often
and email is sent to alert your for different things, such as task assigments
and status reports?

I think the problem has to do with my configuration though, I found this
error in my queue job failures

the email using the SMTP server '
