Outlook Task Failure

Hi
Whenever I try to assign a task in Outlook 2002 I get an error
message:

"Could not complete the operation. One or more parameters are not
valid"

Does anyone know how to get around this?

Action (A): When trying to save a task item there is an error.
Result (R): Could not complete the operation, one or more parameters are
not valid
Cause (C): Corruption to the tasks folder.

*** Resolution ***

Resolution (R):
1. Exported the Tasks list as an Excel (.xls) file.
2. Created a new .pst file and set it as the default delivery location.
3. As the new tasks folder works we copied over the data from the old .pst
and closed it out.
4. Import the data from the Excel Tasks list we had exported.
